End of the School Year Information
*We have all classes every day the last week of school.
*All library books need to be turned in immediately. Overdue books are being assessed fines daily.
*Locker clean out is May 27 during student’s social studies classes. Locker combinations will be changed that night so students need to remove all items.
*Fine cards will be handed out May 28. Teachers will assess fines and sign the cards that day. All cards and fines must be turned in to student’s 8th hour teachers on May 29. Any fines not paid will result in the main office holding the final report card. Unpaid fines are rolled over each school year until paid. For financial assistance or to arrange a payment plan, please contact our bookkeeper at 307-721-4430.
*Last Day of School is May 29. It is a half day & students will be dismissed at 11:30 am.
2015-2016 School Year Information
6th grade students from Beitel, Spring Creek, and Slade will attend Laramie Junior High School. 6th grade students from Indian Paintbrush and Linford will remain at their respective schools. During the summer, registration materials may be picked up in the Laramie Junior High School main office between 8:00am and 12:00pm or 1:00pm and 3:00pm daily. Please bring a copy of last year’s report card, immunization records, birth certificate and achievement test results. Students who attended Albany County Public Schools or St. Laurence School last year are already registered.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school for all 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students attending Laramie Junior High will be a half-day on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, and we will be following an eight-period day. School will be released at 11:25am.
SCHOOL PACKETS, PICTURES, & ORIENTATIONS
7th, 8th and 9th grade students should pick up their packets and schedules on Friday, August 14, 2015 during the designated times.
*7th graders from 9:00am-11:00am
*8th graders from 11:00am-1:00pm
*9th graders from 1:00pm-3:00pm
These students will also have their pictures taken during these times.
6th grade and all remaining students will have their pictures taken Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Retakes will be taken on Wednesday, October 13, 2015

6th and new 7th graders to Laramie Jr. High School will need to attend an orientation on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the Laramie Jr. High School Gym. Orientation (for students only) will be from 8:00am-12:30pm. Lunch will be served from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Parents of these students and any new 8th or 9th grade student to LJHS are invited to an orientation at 1:30pm in the gym. Students will receive their packets and schedules at the end of their orientation.
Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 5:30pm – 7:00pm. All parents are encouraged to attend.
Breakfast and lunch are served in the cafeteria. Account balances are transferred to Laramie Junior High School from the elementary schools. Applications for free and reduced price meals can be found here. To pay for school lunches online, please go to Sodexo. You will need your student’s id number, which you can get from the LJHS main office.

***Fall Sports Night is August 12, 2015 at 5:30 pm in the gym. We will have a brief overview for parents and students and will be collecting sports physicals, fees, code of conduct and immunization records.
Football – August 17, 2015
- 8th grade equipment check out is at 1:00 pm
- 7th grade equipment check out is at 2:00 pm
- Practice for both grades is at 3:00 pm.
Volleyball – August 17, 2015
- 7th grade practice is at 3:00 pm
- 8th grade practice is at 5:00 pm
Cross Country – August 17, 2015
- 6th, 7th & 8th grade practice at 10:00 am
All students participating in athletics must have the following completed before participating in practice sessions or games.
*Sports Physical (the sports physical must be fully completed on both sides and include signatures and insurance information) ACSD#1 policy dictates that all students participating in extracurricular activities are required to carry health insurance. Affordable insurance for the school year can be found here.
*Participation Fee of $15 for each sport played, up to 3 sports. There is no charge for the 4th or 5th sport played. Waivers are available for students who need financial assistance with their fees. Please call the main office to arrange a waiver.
*Code of Conduct that has been signed by both the student and parent/guardian.
*Current Immunizations on file in the nurse’s office.
*Infosnap registration must be completed before competing in the first match of the season.
Home School or Virtual Academy students wishing to participate in LJHS Sports must fill out the appropriate Wyoming High School Activities Association form and include a check for $7.00 at the time of registration. We will send it to the WHSAA for you.
All 9th graders participate in Laramie High School Athletics and are governed by both LHS & LJHS training eligibility rules.
