Tips for LHS Attendance
You can excuse your student through three different resources (include students name, date of absences and when they will return):

Parents can get notifications when their students attendance change through the Powerschool app.
Students are only allowed 10 days of absences per semester. After that the student will be marked as unexcused unless a doctor’s note is provided, or a prearrange absences is requested 48 hours in advance.
Doctor’s appointments are exempt from the 10 day absence rule. Please always request a doctors note for appointments and ask them to fax it to 307-742-3719, or Email LHS attendance.
All absences need to be corrected within 72 hours.
Please call if your student is going to be late for class. We don’t fix late students’ attendance until they arrive at the Attendance Office. If they don’t stop, they will be marked as Unexcused.
If your student is accidentally marked absent, encourage them to talk to their teacher to get it corrected.

Instructions To Submit Your Student/s Absence Through Powerschool
Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account

If you have forgotten your username and password, click on “Forgot Username or Password?” and you will receive an email providing this information on how to reset your password. If you do not have a parent account, please contact your school office.
*Note: This is not available on the PowerSchool Mobile app and is customized for ACSD #1 only in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you want to use your phone to report attendance, please use the link above with an internet browser on your phone.
Click on the Attendance Monitor icon at the bottom of the left-hand menu.
There are three tabs at the top: Report Attendance, Dashboard, Notifications
Report Attendance-You may report absences to your school’s office by clicking on the Report New Attendance link:
Enter the date range for the absences and leave the second date empty if only reporting a single day absence. Select the reason from the drop-down menu. If the absence is not for the entire day, select No and enter the time range for the absence. Enter a reason for the absence, which is required, and click Submit.
You will receive a no-reply confirmation email informing you that the school’s office has received the attendance report. If you entered any incorrect information, you will need to contact the office.
Dashboard –The dashboard provides a chart view of your student’s absences, tardies, excused absences, unexcused absences, and periods absent or tardy. You can click on any of the blue or gold pie charts or bar graphs to see detailed information.
Notifications-This keeps track of any letter notifications you may be sent from the office in regards to excessive absences/tardies, or any reported absences you submit. In some cases, you may be requested to digitally sign a notification for documentation.
