Examples of an Unexcused Absence: Business appointments, hair appointments, missing the school bus, oversleeping, & shopping.
Tardy:
If a student arrives after 8:05 am, he/she must check in at the attendance office. If a parent/guardian knows their student will be late, they need to contact the attendance office or send a note with their student stating why the student is late.
Extended Absence:
Notify the attendance office of the dates your student will be gone. Families can additionally email teachers and students can let teachers know of the absence. The student works on the missing assignments while away and in Scout Learning Lab upon return.
Leaving School Early:
LMS is a closed campus school. Students must be signed out at the attendance office by a parent/guardian and must sign back in when they return to school if, it’s the same day. If you need to pick your child up early either send a note with your student or call/email the attendance office.A pass will be given to the student who will meet you in the attendance office at the appointed time.
If a student needs to go home due to a medical reason, they must go through the school nurse’s office to be excused. Students should not call their parents directly to pick them up without the school nurse’s knowledge. Our nurse will give them a pass to go home and the student will meet their parent in the attendance office.
