Aaron Lozano and Jacqueline Allen will be reaching out to all staff members for student nominees to serve on our LHS HOPE Squad on Tuesday. The goal of Hope Squad is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma, and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide. This intervention began last year at LHS.  

Picture retakes are scheduled for 9-25-24.

The Homecoming Assembly is scheduled for September 11th. The modified schedule is attached Homecoming Assembly Schedule. Additionally, the Homecoming Parade for elementary schools/middle school is scheduled for September 11th in the morning. The LHS Band and Cheer will be participating in the parade. 

Our ACSD #1 accreditation visit is scheduled for October 17th-18th.

Good Things to Share:

The LHS Swim Team won the Gillette Pentathlon on Saturday. 

Paulo Mellizo was named the WyoPreps Athlete of the Week last week.

The LHS Volleyball Team finished 5-0 at the Cheyenne Invitational this weekend.

Reminders/News:

Reminder regarding the criteria for I&E grading and student/teacher expectations: 

Grading:

  • Punctuality. On time and physically accountable throughout I&E period. Students must be present at least 60% of all scheduled I&E periods (excluding excused absences). 

  • Follow processes and procedures for getting academic support.

  • Prepared to best utilize I&E time. Bring a book, homework, and/or something to work on. 

  • On-task. Not disruptive. 

*Must meet 3 of the 4 expectations to adequately meet expectations for the period.

Cell phones are not allowed anywhere in the building during instructional time for the 24-25 school year. Cell Phone Expectations.docx 

The instructional emphasis for the year is engagement. Towards that end, our all-building efforts include CKH strategies, cell phone management, and the utilization engagement strategies like Kagan.
