Earlier this year, the 8th grade business class took the initiative to plan their own field trip—proving that learning goes beyond the classroom. After discussing the criteria, financial responsibilities, and academic justification required, students proposed a visit to StagePoint Federal Credit Union to learn about finances and investments.
To fund the trip, the class organized and ran two concession stands during basketball season. Their hard work paid off—literally—and once they presented their plan to Ms. A, she approved it without hesitation.
The students had a great day touring the credit union, speaking with the lead team, enjoying lunch, and celebrating their success. It was a hands-on experience in both business planning and real-world learning! Great job Ms. Winters allowing your students to take the lead while you facilitated their learning!
